Welcome to Kenya Coffee School — where the story of the cup begins. We invite students, teachers, coffee lovers, travel groups and tea enthusiasts from around the world to explore Kenya’s coffee and tea landscapes through immersive study visits, hands-on workshops, and guided farm-to-cup experiences. Our programs blend practical skills (cupping, processing, brewing, barista & sensory training) with cultural and sustainability learning so visitors leave with professional know-how, stronger cultural understanding, and a lifelong taste for specialty coffee and tea.

What we offer for visitors and school study trips at Kenya Coffee School and Barista Mtaani

  • Tailored study-trip packages for secondary schools, universities, vocational centres and teacher groups: half-day to week-long programs that combine farm visits, processing demonstrations, cupping labs, and classroom sessions.
  • Educational modules: Coffee history in Kenya, agronomy and plant science, post-harvest processing, quality grading, sensory analysis, sustainable value chains, and entrepreneurship in coffee and tea.
  • Practical hands-on workshops: learners grind, brew, cup and roast (demo), practice barista techniques, and design small value-addition projects. Certificate of participation issued for all formal programs.
  • Field visits and homestay options (where available): meet farmers, visit washing stations, and see smallholder innovations that power Kenya’s specialty coffee and tea sectors.
  • Logistics support: help with local transportation, accommodation options, translators/interpretation on request, and safety/health guidance for student groups.

Why bring your students or group to Kenya Coffee School?

  • Learning by doing: our practice-first approach ensures learners leave able to cup, brew, and explain coffee value chains.
  • Local impact: study trips are designed to benefit farming communities — participant fees help fund training and community projects.
  • Cultural exchange: students don’t just learn technical skills — they meet the people, stories, and entrepreneurship behind every cup.
  • Career pathways: programs introduce careers in agronomy, quality control, roasting, hospitality and agri-business — useful for CVs and university projects.

  2. Provide expected group size, age range, and travel dates.
  3. We’ll provide a customized itinerary, a cost estimate, and pre-visit learning materials for teachers.
