Triangle testing is a discrimination method used to detect perceptible differences between samples. Tasters receive three cups, two identical and one different, and must identify the odd sample.

This method evaluates whether changes in processing, roasting, or storage create detectable differences. Statistical analysis determines significance.

Difference testing supports evidence-based decision-making rather than subjective assumption.
