CBECF™ is powered by Kenya Coffee School and the Barista Mtaani Community-Based Organization, connecting coffee production directly to human capital investment.

Every credential issued through the facility is verifiable through Kenya Coffee School’s Natural Value Traceability System (NVTS™).

Coffee farming families have always paid for education out of the harvest. CBECF™ formalises that instinct: a portion of cherry income, contributed voluntarily and tracked transparently, becomes a standing education fund for a farmer’s own children or for learners the cooperative chooses to sponsor.

Funds are held against real, recorded training and assessment milestones at Kenya Coffee School — not against a promise. A farmer, cooperative treasurer, or sponsor can see exactly what has been saved, remitted, and spent, statement by statement.

The result is a financing model built from the coffee sector’s own economics: cherries fund classrooms, classrooms improve cup quality, and better quality strengthens the price the next harvest earns.

Member registration

Farmer, parent, or guardian opens a CBECF™ member record.

Farmer verification

Farm and household details are confirmed against cooperative records.

Cooperative verification

The coffee cooperative society confirms membership in good standing.

Education savings opened

Voluntary savings and cooperative-authorised remittances begin accruing.

Student admission

The learner is admitted into a Kenya Coffee School certificate or diploma programme.

Training

Coursework proceeds through Open Skills Education (OSE™).

Assessments

Competency is measured under CQA™ and the ABCVA™ tasting framework.

Internship

Practical placement with a recruiting employer partner.

Tuition settlement

Savings, remittances, and any scholarship funds are reconciled against fees owed.

Certification

A G4T™-standard credential is issued and recorded on NVTS™ for verification.

Career placement
