Programme Objective

The Barista Skills and Specialty Coffee Certificate is an entry-level programme designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of specialty coffee, barista skills, café operations, brewing methods, customer service, and workplace professionalism. It prepares learners for employment in cafés, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and the hospitality industry, while providing a pathway to the Foundation Diploma.

Day 5: Coffee Processing Methods (Washed, Natural, Honey & Experimental)

Day 6: Food Safety, Personal Hygiene & Workplace Health and Safety

Day 7: Practical Assessment – Coffee Identification & Weekly Examination


WEEK 2 – Introduction to Barista Skills

Day 8: Espresso Machine Parts & Functions

Day 9: Coffee Grinder Basics & Grinder Calibration

Day 10: Espresso Extraction Fundamentals

Day 11: Milk Science & Milk Steaming

Day 12: Introduction to Basic Latte Art (Heart Pattern)

Day 13: Daily Cleaning, Equipment Care & Preventive Maintenance

WEEK 3 – Brewing & Beverage Preparation

Day 15: Brewing Fundamentals & Coffee-to-Water Ratios

Day 19: Chocolate, Tea & Non-Coffee Beverages
