Kenya Coffee School (KCS) and Barista Mtaani proudly joined the Magical Kenya celebrations on 3rd October 2025 at the historic Uhuru Gardens to champion Kenya’s coffee culture, promote local tourism, and unveil upcoming Coffee & Tea Gastronomic Trips across the country.
The event brought together tourism stakeholders, cultural organizations, farmers, youth groups, and coffee enthusiasts to celebrate Kenya’s rich heritage and diverse experiences. As a key partner in Kenya’s hospitality and beverage sector, Kenya Coffee School showcased the unique blend of education, innovation, and culture that positions Kenyan coffee among the best in the world.
☕ Celebrating Kenyan Coffee and Culture
Visitors at the KCS and Barista Mtaani booth were treated to interactive barista demonstrations, specialty coffee tastings, and cultural storytelling sessions highlighting the journey of Kenyan coffee from farm to cup. Youth baristas trained under Barista Mtaani programs showcased their skills, proving that coffee is not just a beverage — it’s a pathway to employment, creativity, and sustainable livelihoods.
“We are proud to be part of Magical Kenya. Coffee is at the heart of our culture and economy. By combining tourism and gastronomy, we aim to create new experiences that empower communities and celebrate Kenya’s uniqueness,”
— Alfred Gitau Mwaura, Founder of Kenya Coffee School and Barista Mtaani.
🌿 Gastronomic Coffee & Tea Trips Launched
During the event, KCS announced an exciting calendar of Coffee and Tea Gastronomic Trips — immersive travel experiences designed to connect local and international tourists with Kenya’s coffee farms, tea estates, training academies, and cultural heritage sites.
These trips will highlight regions like Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Kericho, Meru, and Machakos — offering hands-on activities such as coffee picking, roasting workshops, cupping sessions, tea blending, barista skills, and culinary pairings. The goal is to boost local tourism, support farmers, and inspire youth through experiential learning.
👩🏽🎓 Youth Empowerment Through Skills and Tourism
KCS and Barista Mtaani continue to play a vital role in training young people in coffee and hospitality skills, linking them with global opportunities, and promoting Kenya as a top coffee education and experience destination. Magical Kenya provides the perfect platform to bring these stories to life and attract both domestic and international travelers.
