The Kenya Coffee School (KCS) has today announced the launch of completely free scholarships for youth, women, and aspiring coffee professionals across Kenya. This initiative aims to remove financial barriers to training and provide equitable access to world-class education in barista skills, specialty coffee, and entrepreneurship.
Through this program, beneficiaries will access the full suite of KCS training programs—including Barista Skills, Brewing, Green Coffee, Roasting, and Sensory Skills—without paying tuition fees. The scholarships are designed to empower young people, foster self-reliance, and strengthen Kenya’s position in the global specialty coffee sector.
“At Kenya Coffee School, we believe that financial status should never be a barrier to knowledge. By offering fully funded scholarships, we are giving every youth a fair chance to turn their passion for coffee into a profession, a business, or a pathway to international opportunities,” said the Director of Kenya Coffee School.
Driving Equity in Coffee Education
The scholarship program is part of KCS’s broader mission to empower communities and strengthen livelihoods through skills development. By investing in people, the school ensures that Kenya’s coffee heritage is carried forward by a new generation of professionals who are both skilled and confident.
Inclusive Training: From Nairobi to the Counties
Scholarship recipients will benefit not only at the Nairobi training hub but also through Barista on the Move, KCS’s mobile training program that delivers coffee education directly to counties across Kenya.
“Our scholarship initiative is not limited to the city. Whether you are in Nyeri, Kisii, Eldoret, or Turkana—we are coming to you. This is a national empowerment movement through coffee,” added the Scholarship Program Coordinator at KCS.
