WSSD2 Alignment Statement

Open Skills Education (OSE ™)
Founded by Alfred Gitau Mwaura of Kenya

Open Skills Education (OSE ™) affirms its full alignment with the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) and the commitments adopted by the global community through the Doha Political Declaration.

OSE ™ exists to advance the same core objectives articulated by WSSD2 — poverty eradication, decent work, social inclusion, and human dignity — by transforming access to education and skills for all people, especially youth, informal workers, and communities historically excluded from opportunity.

In direct response to the WSSD2 call for lifelong learning, skills development, and inclusive growth, OSE ™ designs and delivers open, practical, industry-relevant education that enables individuals to:

  • Secure decent and meaningful work
  • Create their own enterprises
  • Participate fully in modern economies
  • Break cycles of poverty through skills and innovation

OSE ™ recognizes that education is not a privilege but a social right, and that skills are the foundation of social development. Through its open-access platforms, partnerships, and certification pathways, OSE ™ converts learning into real economic participation — fulfilling the spirit and intent of WSSD2’s commitment to “leave no one behind.”

By integrating vocational training, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and sector-specific skills such as coffee, hospitality, construction, and technical trades, OSE ™ supports the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contributes to:

  • SDG 1 – No Poverty
  • SDG 4 – Quality Education
  • SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

Founded by Alfred Gitau Mwaura of Kenya, Open Skills Education (OSE ™) stands as a living implementation platform of WSSD2, translating global commitments into practical skills, real jobs, and lasting social impact across Africa and the world.

OSE ™ — Skills Without Barriers. Development Without Exclusion.
