1. OUR IDENTITY
The Coffee Farmers Party (CFP) is a people-driven, sector-rooted political movement born from the struggles, aspirations, and unbreakable spirit of Kenya’s coffee farmers, youth, baristas, cooperatives, and rural communities.
We believe food is a political act, and agriculture is the backbone of national sovereignty, peace, and prosperity.
CFP’s foundation is simple:
When farmers thrive, Kenya thrives. When value chains work, livelihoods rise. When governance is clean, the nation prospers.
CFP is not built around personalities.
It is built around productive citizens, the culture of work, and the idea that political power must serve livelihoods—not the other way round.
2. OUR HISTORICAL CALLING
For 60 years, Kenyan farmers have carried this nation through:
- Foreign exchange generation
- Rural employment
- Stabilizing families
- Sustaining counties
- Feeding urban economies
Yet farmers remain poor, unheard, and exploited.
Past political systems rewarded middlemen, brokers, elites, and cartels—while ignoring the very Kenyans who create the wealth.
CFP rises to correct this historical injustice and restore dignity to the backbone of our economy: the Kenyan farmer.
3. OUR CORE BELIEFS
CFP is anchored on Four Pillars of National Renewal:
1. Good Governance & Anti-Corruption
We believe Kenya must create political institutions—not political vehicles.
CFP will champion:
- Transparent cooperatives
- Accountable county systems
- Anti-cartel reforms
- Public participation by producers
- Digitalization of the entire coffee value chain
We will introduce a National Coffee Governance Code grounded in fairness, traceability, and farmer protection.
2. Livelihoods Protection & Economic Justice
CFP insists that every farmer, barista, processor, youth innovator, and worker in the coffee chain must earn fair value for their work.
Our priorities:
- Guaranteed Minimum Return for farmers
- Protection from exploitation at cooperative and miller level
- Youth inclusion in specialty coffee careers
- A national agrarian livelihoods insurance scheme
- Pension and welfare support for aging farmers
We measure economic success by lives improved, not GDP numbers.
3. Food & Agriculture as National Security
Food sovereignty is Kenya’s next frontier.
We advocate for:
- Farmer-led climate adaptation
- Local processing and value addition
- Regenerative and ecological agriculture
- Coffee tourism and rural enterprise hubs
- Youth training through Kenya Coffee School and rural academies
CFP believes that a nation dependent on imported food can never be politically or economically free.
4. Devolution, Democracy & Representation
CFP supports a new model of micro-party democracy at county level:
- Sector-based representation inside county assemblies
- Political wings for farmers, fishers, pastoralists, and local industries
- Devolved governance that is responsive to livelihoods, not elite power games
We envision counties where productive citizens shape budgets, laws, and development priorities.
4. OUR AGENDA FOR THE COFFEE SECTOR
CFP will champion the most ambitious coffee reforms in Kenya’s history:
1. A Coffee Value Chain Act
A comprehensive law protecting farmers at every stage—from seed to export.
2. Guaranteed Fair Prices
Linking coffee markets to transparent global indices and eliminating cartels.
3. National Coffee Board Rebirth
A modern, farmer-led regulator focused on sustainability, digital markets, and youth.
4. Specialty Coffee & Local Consumption
Grow Kenya’s domestic coffee culture—creating jobs for youth through:
- Barista training
- Micro-roasting
- Café entrepreneurship
- Coffee tourism
- Digital export of Kenyan specialty brands
5. Coffee Cooperatives Reforms
Turn cooperatives into democratic, transparent, farmer-owned institutions with:
- Annual public audits
- Digital voting
- Independent oversight
- Women and youth representation quotas

6. OUR POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY: THE PRODUCER REPUBLIC
We reject politics built on:
