1. Introduction

The Good for Trade (G4T™) Digital Traceability Standard (DTS) is a proposed framework designed to help coffee cooperatives, estates, processors, exporters, roasters, and retailers establish transparent, digitally enabled, and climate-conscious coffee value chains.

The standard seeks to strengthen specialty coffee through reliable data, responsible governance, environmental stewardship, quality assurance, and digital traceability from farm to cup.

Rather than replacing existing certification systems, G4T DTS is intended to complement them by emphasizing practical digital management, continuous improvement, and accessible technology for African coffee producers.
