- COFFEE EDUCATION FROM SEED TO CUP
Coffee is more than a beverage. It represents livelihoods, agricultural knowledge, trade, culture, entrepreneurship, and global economic connections.
Kenya Coffee School embraces a seed-to-cup perspective that recognizes the contribution of farmers, processors, traders, roasters, baristas, hospitality professionals, and consumers.
By expanding coffee knowledge beyond the espresso machine, KCS aims to nurture professionals who understand not only how to prepare coffee, but also the people, processes, and value chains that bring it to the cup.
This approach creates a foundation for stronger industry collaboration, improved skills, and greater appreciation of the contribution of coffee-producing communities.
- LEADERSHIP & INSTITUTIONAL IDENTITY
Kenya Coffee School was founded by Alfred Gitau Mwaura and Alice Murugi Gathige, whose leadership supports the institution’s mission of expanding coffee education, professional skills, and opportunities across the coffee value chain.
KCS works alongside Barista Mtaani to advance practical skills development, coffee education, and pathways into the hospitality and coffee industries.
