Unlocking Opportunities Through Open Skills Education (OSE™)

At Kenya Coffee School and Barista Mtaani, we believe that quality education should be accessible to everyone. Through Open Skills Education (OSE™), we are helping break down barriers that have historically limited access to practical, industry-relevant skills.

Our mission is to expand opportunities for youth, women, and Persons Living with Disabilities by providing affordable, inclusive, and community-driven education in Barista Skills, Specialty Coffee, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality.

Rather than allowing social and economic circumstances to determine a person’s future, Open Skills Education (OSE™) creates pathways for lifelong learning, employability, and sustainable livelihoods. It is our commitment to ensuring that talent is nurtured wherever it is found.

Appreciating Cultural Heritage Through Coffee

Coffee is more than a crop—it is part of Kenya’s cultural identity and a bridge that connects communities, traditions, and generations. Through our programmes, we celebrate the rich heritage of Kenyan coffee while combining indigenous knowledge with modern specialty coffee practices.

By preserving cultural heritage and equipping learners with internationally relevant skills, we create opportunities that strengthen communities, promote dignity, and encourage inclusive economic participation.

Education as a Social Impact Right

We view skills education as a powerful driver of social impact. Every learner trained, every scholarship awarded, and every opportunity created contributes to stronger families, more resilient communities, and a more prosperous Kenya.

Through Kenya Coffee School and Barista Mtaani, Open Skills Education (OSE™) continues to inspire a movement where education is not only a pathway to employment but also a catalyst for inclusion, innovation, cultural appreciation, and poverty reduction.

Together, we are transforming lives through education, preserving Kenya’s coffee heritage, and building a future where opportunity is open to all.
